Hello!! Welcome to our Little Lion Shop.
I started this shop because I want to make it easier for parents to use Cloth Diapers. We order from one of the biggest Chinees manufacture there is. Because they are so big they can keep the prices low and they have a lot more awesome prints!
I often hear the question ‘How much diapers do I need?’
Well, it basically works the same as with disposable diapers, your baby will use +/- 5 diapers during the day and maybe 2 at night. So 7 a day. You want to wash each 3 days. Then hang dry if you have the space so that will take about a day. Meaning you’ll need enough diapers for 4 days if you want to use washable diapers full time.
7×4=28 diapers .. I round it up to 30 🙂 cause the prints are so awesome!!
Which systems are good for me?
I love the pocket diapers! Works the easiest, always gives your baby the dry feeling because of the fleece and have the most prettiest prints. Can you imagine in summer 😀
Some babies do tend to pee a lot during the night which makes the AI2 system a little better for them as it absorbs more liquid. Why not only buy AI2 systems.. Well, they are much thicker, and i just love all these prints and how easy it is for everyone around you to use. Plus AI2’s are a little more expensive.
What I suggest to our clients is to buy 2x 3 layer inserts for the day an 2x 5 layer inserts for the night. Or AI2 for the night and pockets for the day.
The pockets are for babies of around 4 till 15 kilos!
What else do I need??
You’ll need pocket diapers, inserts but also
- A wetbag for if you’re away from home. To store the clean ones and dirty ones in.
- A laundry bag.Which makes it easy to toss into the wash machine.
- And Wipes if you want to also use washable wipes.
‘My husband thinks it disgusting..’ Well.. With normal diapers you’ll get the occasionally poo on your hands as well! It Works exactly the same as your disposable diaper, only in stead of the bin, you throw them in the laundry bag bin.. After you throw the entire bag in the wash machine and let the wash machine do its work!
‘It’s so expansive..’
Yes to buy it all at ones its expansive. But why not put some on your baby wishlist?
Here is the calculation if you’re still not convinced.
30 diapers a 8chf = 240chf
50 inserts a 3,50chf = 175chf
2 wetbags a 8chf = 16chf
2 Laundry bags a 8chf = 16cf
40 Baby Wipes a 1chf = 40chf
makes a TOTAL 487chf
That makes up for about 2864,7 disposable diapers.. And as I mentioned down here the average baby uses 5300 diapers until it’s dry. Which makes it that after one year of diapering you’re already saving money. Even more if you want to have an other child!
At the Little lion shop we believe that we should stop using single use items! Diapers are a big problem considering one baby uses around 5300diapers before it doesn’t need any anymore. That’s around 22 kilo’s of diaper trash a month!! Even with the washing, washable diapers are far better for our planet then disposable ones.
So to sum it up, Cloth diapers are…
Better for the environment.
Better for your wallet, especially when used by more then one baby!
Better for your baby’s skin cause it doesn’t get in contact with the chemicals which are in disposable diapers.
and Baby are sometimes Better and faster potty trained.
