Georgetown is definitely the coolest town of Malaysia, with the nicest People and the best Indian Curry’s!! It’s the capital city of Penang and has been in the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.
There is Street Art all over town, and it’s super cool to take a stroll thru town in search for it! You can either walk or rent a bike.
We stayed at the WeLuv Travel Guesthouse very basic rooms, clean utilities and absolutely the nicest people we stayed at during 3months of SouthEast Asia! We arrived late after 16 hours of bus driving, and they were so nice to wait for us and even take us to the best Indian Restaurant in town! They have big cars so you can all go together! 🙂 Do not go to the chinees restaurant opposite the hostel, even though you can choose between hart, liver, testikels, chicken or prawn’s it still doesn’t taste good! haha!!
George town is full with the hippest cafés 🙂 ,which makes it a little more expensive, a coffee can be 8 a 10 Ringgit, 2€. But the Indian curries are amazing!! There is even one who’s open 24hours. Kapitan Restaurant is very good, and who doesn’t love to eat with their hands 🙂
Peranakan Mansion is where the Penang Royalty used to live and it’s now a beautiful museum!
You can watch the sunset from the rooftop 360 Skybar, and they even have wine!
