Cheow Larn Lake is situated between the Khao Sok national park and the Khlong Saeng wildlife sanctuary. In 1982 the Ratchapraphadam was build which blocked the Khlong Saeng river and made this beautiful 165 square kilometre big lake .
You can stay on the lake on floating raft houses or luxury tents ! While backpacking I stayed at Smiley Lake House ! It’s very basic and if you have ants in your bed than just spray your bed with mosquito repellent, it will keep them all out! Besides that it was a very nice stay, and the guy who does the tour was very nice! We went to the Nam Taloo cave, a night boat tour and a morning boat tour in search of the Gibbon! We could hear them loads but didn’t get the change to see them up close!
Taking the boat over there takes about an hour over this beautiful scenic lake ! The views are amazing !! Definitely recommend going here, It’s a total different experience being out on this lake and in this old evergreen rainforest !!
If your staying in Khao Sok before going to the lake I can recommend Khao Sok Cabana Resort costs only 600BAT and the rooms nice! For diner go to Pawn’s !!
