Bergamo
40km from Milan, and a lot off you don’t know that it is definitely worth visiting this city!
It is one of the oldest cities of Lombardy and you can see thing from the ancient Etruscan, Celtic and Roman culture. There has been a big wall around the city since the 15th century. Which has now divided the city in two, the higher part is the old city and the lower part the new modern city. In the newer part of the city is also the Museum Accademia Carrara. La Carrara
In the higher historical city centre is the Piazza Vecchia, Palazzo della Ragione, the Dom and the beautifull and imposing Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. Definitely worth a visit.
Bergamo is super easy to reach, it is right next to Orio al Serio, the third airport of Milan.
So super if you want to combine it with a trip to the amazing Milan. And Lago di como to the left en Lago d’Iseo on the right, both at distance of only 45 minutes!
I enjoy especially the stroll down the street, and to this nice wine bar Vineria Cozzi ! And after the Ristorante Mimmo where I had a pizza together with some cozy live music in the garden. In Italy you can always find a good place to enjoy good food!
I stayed at the Bed and Breakfast off Botton d’Oro, and i slept at the Locatie DI VIA GOMBITO 3. It’s really nice what this lady does and the breakfast was great! Botton d’oro
